Hugo: Winter Games or Hugo: PC Calendar (international titles), originally released in Denmark as Hugo i Sneen (Hugo in Snow), is a PC-only video game that was developed and published by ITE in 1997. It was the first of the Hugo Christmas-themed games ("Wintergames"), and was followed by Hugo Saves Christmas and Hugo: Scylla's Revenge.

Hugo: Winter Games

The game is a collection of simple minigames. They are mostly original scenarios of puzzle kind, but also include the action-style Sleigh and Snowboard stages from the classic games, as well as the boss-fight endgame Snowballs.

The Hugo media franchise includes numerous video games either based on or inspired by the interactive television game show of the same title originally developed by the Danish company ITE Media. Dozens of Hugo games spanning different genres have been released for various platforms in many international localizations since 1990, having sold over 10 million copies as for 2008.[1]

The Agent Hugo series was a James Bond parody themed reboot of the Hugo franchise developed and published by ITE Media. The original Agent Hugo was released only in Europe in 2005, followed by Agent Hugo: Roborumble in 2006, Agent Hugo - Lemoon Twist in 2007, and Agent Hugo: Hula Holiday in 2008. Unlike the classic Hugo games, the games in the series were not compilations of simple scenarios from the television show, but full fledged third-person perspective action games similar to some of the earlier standalone Hugo games.

The second Olympic winter games in St. Moritz were the first winter games which were not carried out in the same context as the summer games. The official poster was designed by Hugo Laubi in 1928 and shows the Swiss and the Olympic flag before the snowy Engadine mountains. The clear distribution and harmonisation of the graphic elements make this unique and rare poster lithograph convey such a clear advertising message. The Zurich-Born Laubi was known as a painter, graphic designer and lithographer of commercial posters and created memorable designs for tourist resorts such as St. Moritz and Arosa. In Zurich, Hugo Laubi is remembered especially for his famous 1920s poster for the Odeon Café which shows a man reading a newspaper

The month that followed was a whirlwind. Birkeland raced at the very end of the Beijing Games, but she was there for its entirety. The first week at the Olympics flew by, but she noted as the days wore on, it became harder to stay locked in. But she made a point before heading to the games that she was going to soak in the moment she worked so hard to reach.

Since its premiere in 1990, the Hugo game show has been aired in more than 40 countries, spawning dozens of video games and home ports for various platforms. Hugo also spawned other merchandise, including dedicated magazines. ITE was bought in 2002 by a company known as Olicom who proceeded to gut ITE by firing most of its staff and have Hugo in the center of a huge international marketing push. This resulted in a lot of mediocre games being released and ITE never recovered. It finally closed for good in 2010 but not before the rights to Hugo himself was sold to Krea Media, who together with Hugo Games handles it until today.

Outside of the show, many commercial games has also been made featuring the character. These initially mostly consisted of collections of minigames from the TV show, releasing on the Amiga, Commodore 64, PC as well as several consoles throughout the 90s. Several original games (mostly 3d platformers and educational) has also been made. Most notably the European exclusive "Kikurian" trilogy on the original Playstation released between 2000 and 2003. Since 2011, Krea Media/Hugo Games has also published a series of mobile remakes for Android. An online slot machine adaptation was also released in 2016 and an animated feature film was announced to be in production by the same guys that did Ronal the Barbarian, but seems to have slipped into Development Hell as nothing has been heard about it since 2012.

In almost all of the classic tv games, the player guides the titular protagonist to save his wife and children from the evil witch Scylla. To rescue his family, Hugo must navigate safely through dangerous environments in various minigame scenarios. The series later received an "expansion" known as Hugo: Jungle Island. Where Scylla returned and moved to the titular jungle island, teamed up with the local tyrant Don Croco and once again kidnapped Hugo's wife Hugolina and the children. Keeping them captive in a cage in her new lair, located at a top of volcano in the center of the island. The players control Hugo, aided by the monkey Jean Paul and the toucan Ferdinand, as he needs to complete a new series minigames to reach and defeat the witch and free his family again.

The celebrations continue as EF was also appointed the Official Education Services Partner for the PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation, which focuses on sports-related activities for young people and the development of winter sport, as well as managing select venues used during the Games. EF was the Official Education Services Partner for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and will re-launch the Winter Sports Education Program we created for those Games. The revamped program will educate Korean youth on the sports of the Winter Games and will include an education portal with winter sports videos, winter sport-themed coloring pages and web-based lessons that Korean teachers can use to explore sports with their students.

In an environment that felt much like a winter league game, some folks in what seemed like a predominantly Venezuelan crowd waved the country's yellow-blue-and-red flag, blew air horns or tried to get close to their favorite players. 2ff7e9595c
